Ethnic Vintage Necklace Big Medallions Copper Brass Silver (16877) $135

CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS OR TO BUY

This is a very unique vintage ethnic necklace that was made in India in the 1970s. I have owned this necklace since it was new and it has always been a necklace I've treated with great care; knowing I would probably never find one like it ever again.

The necklace is a fascinating layered medallion style with three large triple medallions. The medallions are not flat; they are slightly domed and were hand hammered. There are 3 different metals on each medallion; copper, brass, and nickel. Each medallion has hand stamped motifs of flowers and leaves.

The large black beads are ebony wood with brass accents. These beads were very skillfully made as the brass bands are recessed into the wood beads. Smaller brass crimp beads and ebony wood beads make up the rest of the necklace.

When clasped, the necklace is 24" or 61 cm long. The medallions are : 2 1/4" and 2" and 1 1/2" wide, or 58 mm and 51 mm and 40 mm. The necklace has the original old hand made hook.

The entire necklace is pristine clean and professionally polished with no scratches, dings, or dents. There are some light signs of wear on the backs of the big brass medallions and one that has two small rust spots that have been polished out. The necklace is not signed.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new luxury presentation necklace box.

Ethnic Vintage Necklace Big Copper Brass Pendant 1950s Jewelry (16879) $135

This very unique huge medallion necklace is one that I've hung onto for many decades. Knowing I would probably never see another one like it in my lifetime, I have kept is safely stashed away. I think I wore it once or twice when I first bought it decades ago.

This necklace is not signed however I can tell you it was made in Mexico in the 1950-1960 Mid-Century Modern Era. The dead giveaway on the country it was made in ; the hand made green/white marbled glass beads on the necklace chain and dangling from the medallion.

What I like most about this necklace is the HUGE hand crafted sun or flower medallion. It is a whopping 3" or 73 mm wide.

The medallion is brass on the front and solid genuine copper on the back with black enamel in the recessed areas on the front. The large dark green cab at the center is Acrylic. The necklace chain is one continuous loop 30" or 76 cm long and is made of stainless steel.

The entire necklace is in pristine clean condition with no imperfections or flaws. All of the carved Chalcedony beads are perfect with no chips or cracks. The copper is professionally cleaned and polished.  The Acrylic cab has light swirls from gentle handing ;some light wear in tiny spots to the black enamel. The back of the medallions has some light scratches and dings from handling, and from when it was made. The necklace is not signed.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation necklace box.

This is a very unique vintage Moroccan necklace.
A friend of mine purchased it from a metal smith in Morocco in the late 1960s.

In my 30+ years of collecting vintage jewelry, and I've focused a great deal on Northern African jewelry, I've never seen another necklace with beads like this.

The big beads are machined brass and are bicone shapes with deep machined grooves on the sides. The center band has cut out rectangles that were hand cut. The large round black beads are hand made wound beads from black recycled glass. The top of the necklace also has brass barrel beads.

When clasped, the necklace is 18 1/4 " or 46.4 cm long. The big brass beads are 7/8" or 22 mm wide. The black glass  beads are 3/8" or 10 mm.

The necklace has the original old brass hook that is an unusual machine made hook. The entire necklace is in excellent clean condition and has been well cared for. The brass barrel beads at the top have a slight patina from age. All of the black glass beads are perfect with no chips or cracks. The large brass beads have been professionally cleaned and polished however there are some light hints of age to the brass here and there. The necklace is not signed.

In my 30+ years of collecting vintage ethnic jewelry, this necklace is one of my all time favorites.

It is a fascinating combination of Black Lip Mother of Pearl, fossilized orange coral beads, laminated coconut barrel beads, and coconut wood disk beads. The large medallion is almost as thick as it is wide and all sides are finished with inlaid strips of Black Lip Mother of Pearl. The 4 orange beads are fossilized coral. The unique large barrel beads are compressed coconut slices. The rest of the beads are all tan, dark brown, and sienna red coconut disks.

When clasped, the necklace is 24 1/2" or 62.5 cm long. The large medallion is 1 5/8" wide x 1" thick or 42 mm x 24 mm. The barrel beads are 1 1/8" or 30 mm long.

The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. The beads are strung on high tensile strength monofilament and the original fine working barrel screw clasp is in place. The necklace is not signed.

Lime Spring Green Vintage Pearl Earrings MOD Baubles 1960s Jewelry (16878) $35

Because of their color, age, and condition, these earrings amaze me!

It is very uncommon to find vintage pearl earrings like these.

In the 1950s, famous ladies like Rose Kennedy made big button style earrings a fashion trend. In the 1960s, Mod magazine fashion models made big bauble style earrings the new fad.

Made in the 1960s, these bauble style pearl earrings are a most unusual color of light mint or light lime green. They remind me of the first hint of green you see in spring when leaves just start to pop. The earrings are clips and they are the lever style that are comfortable to wear. The ear post has a small matching button pearl.

The earrings hang down 1 1/2" or 38 mm long. The large baubles are 1" or 23 mm.

Amazingly, the pair is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. They look almost brand new. There is no gold wear or loss of gold on the clips. The pearls are almost flawless with the exception of a couple of very microscopic scuff marks, hardly worth nothing. The earrings are not signed.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in a new presentation earring box.

Lemon Lime Funky Vintage Necklace 1960s Hong Kong Beads (16870) $55

CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS OR TO BUY

If you don't know about the wild and wacky beads that were made in Hong Kong in the 1960s, you're missing out on a great niche in vintage jewelry!

In the 1960s Hong Kong made some of the most unusual beads the world has ever seen. The lifespan of bead production and jewelry exported to the US from Hong Kong was very short lived. They were put out of business by the Japanese who took over the market in the 1970s. Then, the Japanese were put out of business in the 1980s by China; and hence, all the imports combined sadly led to the demise of the entire US designer jewelry empire.

This fruity lemon lime necklace is 3 strands of beads in lemon yellow, bright green, and sea foam green. The most interesting beads are the translucent ribbed orbs; hollow inside and with a yellow bead inside of the orb. There are elliptical wafer beads and shell shapes and the yellow beads have a granular texture. All of the beads are plastic with the exception of the gold foil glass seed bead spacers.

The necklace can be hooked between 16 1/2" and 18 1/2" long or 42 cm to 47 cm. The bright green orb beads are 16 mm. The original matching extension chain is in place and the metal hook is signed Hong Kong.

The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no missing or damaged beads. It is obvious the necklace has never been worn.

Comes gift wrapped and shipped in new presentation necklace box.

Mexican Onyx RARE Vintage Necklace Carved Beads 1970s Jewelry (16872) $145

CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS OR TO BUY

his unique and very lovely vintage hand carved Chalcedony necklace was made in Mexico in the 1970s.

My grandmother bought it in Mexico in 1972 along with a fabulous huge oval coffee table. Unfortunately, when she passed away, I managed to get the necklace but not the coffee table.

You don't see necklaces from Mexico made like this anymore.

The Chalcedony (also called Mexican Onyx) is superb quality with opalescent character. The 9 large barrel or melon beads have carved ribs. These beads are cream in color with white and tan canes. The rest of the beads on the necklace are opalescent white with white canes. They are squatty round in shape. Some are carved plain and every other bead is ribbed, or flowerettes. All of the beads are spaced with silver plated metal ball beads.

When clasped, the necklace is 20" or 51 cm long. The large melon beads are 3/4" or 19 mm long.

The necklace is not heavy to wear.
The entire necklace is in pristine clean like new condition with no imperfections or flaws. There are no cracked, chipped, or scratched beads. All of the silver plated bead are excellent and like new as well. The necklace is not signed.

Antique Hand Mirror Art Nouveau Blue Glass w Guilloche Rose (16875) $65

CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS OR TO BUY

This very large unique Art Nouveau hand mirror was made in the 1910's or 1920's.
The top of the mirror is ocean blue glass with a large Guilloche rose cab on top a big filigree medallion.

For many years, I've been reluctant to sell this hand mirror because every time I run a search on antique blue glass hand mirrors, the ones I can find are $500 to $1000. Many of the antique blue glass hand mirrors were made in France. This one is not signed but it may have been made by Arrow as Arrow often features Guilloche rose cabs.

The photographs show you the elaborate Art Nouveau detail of the frame and handle. The gold on the handle is very worn but around the frame it is still very nice. The Guilloche cab and the filigree medallion are in excellent condition.

Im selling this mirror at a very low price because it is not one that you would use to view your face up close. The mirror side is relatively foggy or silvered from age. The blue mirror side is in very nice shape with only some light imperfections; one small foggy spot and some speckling under the glass. There are no big scratches or cracks to either mirror; no repair or braks to the metal portions. IMO, the silver mirror looks more foggy in person than in the photos.

The mirror with handle is 14 1/2" or 37 cm long.
The mirror portion is about 7" long x 5" wide or 18 cm x 13cm.
The Guilloche cab is 1 3/8" or 44 mm long.

Antique Art Deco Brass Ashtray Maritime Sport Fishing Suit of Cards (16874) $45

CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS OR TO BUY

This very unique Antique Art Deco ashtray was made in the 1920-1930 era. It is solid cast brass.

I bought this ashtray in Key West at a flea market in the late 1970s. It caught my attention because it looked like something Ernest Hemingway might have had in his house or his writing apartment on Whitehead St. Or, it could have one time been in Sloppy Joes or Captain Tony's.

The interesting suit of cards, one on each corner, and the architectural Art Deco panels on the sides makes it a great conversation piece. The ashtray is rather large and weighty as it is solid cast brass. It is heavily tarnished with some corrosion but if you look at the bottom and the back of the sail fish, you can see where I started to buff it out. It cant be done by hand but a wire brush on a dremel tool will do the job if you want to bring it back to it's original glory.

The ashtray is 4" tall to the top of the sailfish. It is about 5 1/2" wide. It weighs 1 lb. 9 oz. The great news about this piece is that there are no cracks or repairs. It is not signed that I can find.

Antique Fishing Photo Tarpon Fisherman Bamboo Pole 1930s Florida (16873) $24

CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS OR TO BUY

This black and white photograph of a Tarpon fisherman with bamboo fishing pole was taken in FL in the 1930s or earlier. This is not an original photograph but a high quality copy of the original photo.

The original belonged to a neighbor of mine in the Florida Keys, a retired judge from Miami who was a charter fisherman. He had a massive collection of old fishing photos from the 1930's thru the 1950s from Miami and the Florida Keys. He only allowed me to take this one photo to get it copied and not long after, he passed away and the rest of the entire collection was lost or taken.

The paper is acid free glossy photo paper and the paper size is 8 1/2 " x 11". The actual photo size is 6" x 9 3/4". It has been stored in an acid free clear sleeve with a separate piece of acid free cardboard backing. The copies are in pristine like new condition and will be shipped in a flat very stiff cardboard mailer.

Note the bamboo fishing pole and the very worn out shoes the man is wearing. He is also wearing wool pants, a white shirt, a white vest, and a white tie. Back then, you had to DRESS for any photo but if you look at his weathered hands and tattered shoes, it is plain to see he was an average Joe...with the biggest fish he'd ever caught in his life. You can see the metal fishing lure near his hand on the pole. Also note the tarpon :  It is as longer than the man is tall.

I don't know where this photo was taken but it was probably either Key West or Miami. There are some faint letters on the bottom of the photo. Part of the word Florida is visible and the photographer's studio name is on there but it is very faint in the background and not really legible to the naked eye.

If you would like the name of the man who owned the original photo and where he lived in the Keys, this can be provided upon purchase. I had to take a photograph of the photo to display online, hence the actual image is much nicer in person.
I only have 6 copies.  I do not have the original.

USPS Prioirty Mail shipping in the US for one of more photos is $ 6.50.

Vintage Jewelry Box 1950s Romance Scene w Red Velvet (16888) $45

CLICK HERE FOR MORE PHOTOS OR TO BUY

This vintage jewelry box is an uncommon to find vintage design. It is a silver metal box that was made in Japan that I have owned since the late 1960s.

The design is uncommon because it is a long oval box with a romantic scene on the lid and flowers and scrolls around the entire base. The romantic scene on the lid features women in long dresses in a garden inside a scrolling border or flowers, leaves, and scrolls. The inside of the lid is patterned with tiny scrolls and the base is lined with the original red velvet. The box rests on four small legs.

Medium in size, the box is 3 3/4" long x 2" wide or 9.5 cm x 5 cm.

The entire box is in excellent well cared for condition with no major imperfections such as scratches, dings , or metal wear. The red velvet has some light signs of age. The exterior only has gentle signs of wear from age. The hinge is in perfect working order and the box is signed Japan.

The earrings were hand made and the large twisted brass wire flowers form sprays of barrel faceted clear and black glass beads. These are very old Bohemian beads. The clear beads glisten with lots of little air bubbles inside.
